DOLLY GIRL

KINC GIVES ANNA SUI A HEAD START FOR THE 'DOLLY GIRL' PRODUCT LAUNCH

THE COMMUNICATION CHALLENGE
How do you make a tiny product the topic of conversation in a massive department store?

THE DESIGN SOLUTION
For the product launch event for Anna Sui's "Dolly Girl" perfume, Kinc Design Chicago designed a delicate and whimsical 24 foot tall pink feather mobile in the shape of the product bottle.

Great idea! Now how do we build it?

KINC COMES TO THE RESCUE
To create the custom event prop for the product launch, Kinc's team first produced a 1-inch scale model of the design, which was sent to Sui’s New York corporate offices where it was enthusiastically approved (and subsequently "stolen" by the CEO for her office!).

The completed mobile was built of hand-feathered graduated aluminum rings, finished on both sides with "face" details developed from the product packaging.  Because the only access to the display area was a 5-foot loading door, the mobile was constructed of pre-rigged interlocking half-circles that were separated for easy delivery and quickly reassembled on-site without damage to the prop's structural integrity or detailed finish.

THE IMPACT
Bright, smile-inspiring, and unforgettable, the product launch mobile made a strong visual presence from all shopping levels surrounding the atrium.
