AUSTEN-TATIOUS
CHICAGO OPERA SHOWS SENSE AND SENSIBILITY
BY HIRING KINC TO BUILD PRIDE AND PREJUDICE

THE CHALLENGE
Mary Griswold's set design for the new musical Pride And Prejudice combined both realistic and imaginative elements, requiring a fabrication team capable of realizing both the artistic and technical demands of the design.

THE SOLUTION

Maintaining close communication with Chicago Opera's production staff, Kinc worked from the set model as well as drawings and paint elevations to realize the designer's vision.

THE IMPACT
Combining whimsy and theatricality with richly executed period details, Kinc's fabrication of Griswold's set included sweeping backdrops of the English countryside, as well as Regency-era furniture, and post-modern elements such as careful paintwork detailing on the main platform to make it look like a massive open book.
