THE DESIGN SOLUTION
To compete against regular broadcast TV, Chicago's Children's Memorial Hospital's in-house TV station, Skylight TV, has to
ensure that its shows are as attractive as they are educational and
entertaining.
To update Skylight's popular game show Safety
Bingo, Kinc designed a new bingo board centerpiece was updated with moving
parts and chaser lights, and modified with interchangeable pieces to
allow it to be used in different shows. Anthropomorphizing the prize
display with rolling eyes and big feet made it a character the children
identified with, and adding an over-sized phone to the host’s podium for
contestants to “call in” on completed the general atmosphere of fun.
The final touch was an automated
“cloudy sky” background roll drop to quickly transform the studio.
