How do you take the world's kitschy-est object and make it glamorous?

For their annual 2009 Spring Flower Show, Macy's chose the theme "Dream In Color," and turned to Kinc to design and deliver an eye popping themed environment of enormous pink flamingos.

Great idea! Now how do we build it?

KINC COMES TO THE RESCUE
Taking advantage of the building's support columns, Kinc created several gigantic hand-feathered bird sculptures that either wrapped around or were bisected by the architecture.  They also created window-sized flamingos, and refurbished existing set of flamingo armatures for florists to cover with live flowers.

The end result was a delightful and uplifting Alice-In-Wonderland landscape of Pink Flamingos parading across the store's atrium, wandering its aisles, and nesting in the famed State Street windows, courtesy of Kinc.

THE IMPACT
On display from April 5 to 19th, 2009, the flower show was hailed as a "veritable floral oasis for the senses."
